Miriam Bakker is a digital marketing consultant, and founder of  The Keyword Agency,  located in Westport, CT.

The Keyword Agency is Miriam and a customer-centric team of professionals who have extensive experience and expertise in the topics and tactics that enable companies to do more business online, specifically related to eCommerce and lead generation.

The client’s goals are defined and executed at every tactical touch point. We focus on the big picture and execute to plan, a key element to a successful 6+ year career in search marketing.

Search is the core function we all use to find things online. The businesses who show up at the top of the 1st page of search results win new business and generate sales.

Our goal is simple – to help our clients dominate the search results page at a reasonable cost. Search is the core function of Google and Bing and Amazon. Every action we take will result in improved visibility.

Digital experience and clients include Caterpillar, Inc., manufacturers, and entrepreneurs with aggressive goals and strong brands.

Before digital media, Miriam had a highly successful 20-year career in apparel sales and inventory management as a national account manager for Vanity Fair, a division of VF Corporation, one of the largest apparel companies in the US. She was responsible for up to $18 million in annual sales for brands including Vanity Fair, Nike Inneractives, and Eileen West to the nation’s leading retailers including Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdales, and Macy’s.  She was a data-driven marketer before the term became cool. Sales gains were directly attributable to data-driven analysis, planning, and tactical execution of multi-million dollar programs, and team collaboration.

Having a background in sales and account management has allowed Miriam to excel in eCommerce and digital media, and paid search in particular, where selection and price paid drive returns. It’s all about results, setting goals and working diligently to reach them.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two boys, family, and friends at home and abroad. She is a proud supporter and advocate for children with special needs, and has served on numerous boards in the community advocating for educational and recreational opportunities for all.

She attended New York University and Fairfield University as a business major while working full-time.
